在廚房做飯時(shí)老感覺客廳的手機(jī)在響，跑過去一看，發(fā)現(xiàn)手機(jī)根本沒響動(dòng)。這樣的情況你歷程過嗎？在英語里，這樣的情況叫phantom1 ringing，如果走路時(shí)老感覺手機(jī)在震動(dòng)，那就是phantom vibration2 syndrome3。

Phantom vibration syndrome or phantom ringing is the sensation and false belief that ones mobile phone is vibrating or ringing, when in fact the telephone is not doing so.

Phantom vibration syndrome（或者phantom ringing）指手機(jī)明明沒響動(dòng)，卻總感覺手機(jī)在震動(dòng)或者在響的幻覺或錯(cuò)覺，大家稱之為震動(dòng)幻覺綜合征或者手機(jī)響動(dòng)幻覺。

Phantom ringing may be experienced while taking a shower, watching television, or using a noisy device. Humans are particularly sensitive to auditory tones between 1,000 and 6,000 hertz, and basic mobile phone ringers often fall within this range. This frequency range can generally be more difficult to locate spatially4, thus allowing for potential confusion when heard from a distance.

False vibrations5 are less well understood however, and could have psychological or neurological sources. Some liken this effect to be similar to conditioning, like Pavlovs experiment on dogs. Researcher Michelle Drouin found that almost 9 of 10 undergraduates at her college experienced phantom vibrations.
