項(xiàng)目發(fā)言人稱，天宮一號(hào)將作為空間交會(huì)對(duì)接的目的飛行器，完成交會(huì)對(duì)接試驗(yàn)。
文中的target spacecraft就是指目的飛行器，此次發(fā)射的天宮一號(hào)是一個(gè)unmanned module2（無(wú)人駕駛艙）。天宮一號(hào)升空后，將進(jìn)行docking experiments（對(duì)接實(shí)驗(yàn)）。
天宮一號(hào)可以用Tiangong-1或者Heavenly Palace 1來(lái)表示。天宮一號(hào)既是一個(gè)空間交會(huì)對(duì)接的目的飛行器，又是一個(gè)淺易的spacelab（空間實(shí)驗(yàn)室），中國(guó)籌備借助這個(gè)平臺(tái)，要進(jìn)行空間實(shí)驗(yàn)室的有關(guān)技術(shù)試驗(yàn)，并為打造space station（空間站）做籌備。
國(guó)內(nèi)計(jì)劃在2012年前后發(fā)射的月球車(chē)就是lunar/moon rover。Rover一般用來(lái)指流浪者，漫游者，譬如：The Indian of the West is a rover of the plain.（西部的印第安人在大平原上過(guò)著游牧生活。）
